Through their partnership with Nova Scotia Power Incorporated, the Red Cross is providing Nova Scotian’s with increased emergency preparedness information, and are pleased to launch their new website www.stormready.ca.
Our best advice is for you to be sure to take a number when you arrive on their Site!

Disasters are waiting to happen but with the Red Cross at hand we can all be better prepared.
Everyday the Canadian Red Cross helps people in emergencies.
One of the best things you can do to help you, and your family, is to develop a disaster plan. Talk with your family, plan a place to meet, learn about your communities warning signals, find a safe place in your home, and be sure to stock a supply of food and water.
One of the best ways to help others in an emergency is to be prepared. Local Red Cross office provides Emergency Readiness Training and can provide you with presentations and other information that will help you, your family, neighbours, and coworkers, be prepared in the case of an emergency.
The best emergency is the one that never happens! Yet because disasters strike and often without warning the best time to prepare is today.
Be sure to learn how to be properly prepared by contacting your Local Red Cross Office today.
If you’re interested in helping others to prepare for disasters, disaster relief, or just want a fun place to volunteer, the Red Cross needs your help!
Discover volunteer positions near you!
I also want to include a mention of the American Red Cross for those of you living in, or visiting, the USA. The last thing you need in an emergency is to find our article about the Red Cross and not have the link for your own Country.
Here’s the link for the American Red Cross.
